You know your children are getting older when they ditch their folks because they all have fabulous plans of their own! LOL This year our Nick was away with friends at the coast for a few days over New Year (got the chance to celebrate it both in NSW and then back over the border in Qld an hour later for fireworks there too! *grin*) Emily was off to a NYE party with some kids from schoolies and Alex was all set to spend the night at a mates place with a few of the boys.
Sooooo Michael and I decided to spend this New Years Eve together, with about a gazillion other people LOL at Southbank Parklands to watch the fireworks and light display over the Brisbane River in the City! We got there early and set up our big comfy blanket on the grass right along the river, was so relaxing laying there chatting, having hot chocolates, snuggling, listening to the bands play and just BEING with one another. It couldn't have been more perfect.
The fireworks were definitely spectacular, all timed to music and reflecting so gorgeously on the water too. No I didn't take my camera, I didn't want to risk it getting stolen or wet if we went for a swim together or left our spot for some food. I just wanted to relax and I did. A worry free beginning to 2012. Michael took some very grainy piccies on his iPhone so I'll share them, I love them, and even though the quality isn't the best they remind me of our *wonderful* start to this New Year and with God's blessing hopefully the whole year will be the same. There are so many dreams and plans I have for this year. For our family, for our home, with my job, my photography... my life! Will be back to share about them all.
