Another Year Older...

Another year older...

As fate would have it my beautiful girlfriends and I all share our birthdays at the same time of year, all 4 of us celebrate our days within a 6 week time frame... I so love it, it makes it just that extra bit special! This week we got together for the last one this year and it reminded me I hadn't had a chance to share some memories from my own birthday High Tea a few weeks ago.

Bec and I... the birthday girls!

Although she is younger (yes I put that in for you Bec! LOL) our birthdays are only one day apart which we adore. A little bond that we have always shared and treasured, spoiling each other a tad too. This year I decided to splash out a bit on one of our Tuesdays and do a gorgeous High Tea at home for us which was exciting.

Inspired By This

Many months ago I was wandering through Spotlight checking out all the pretties, as you do LOL, and I came across these ever so beautiful butterfly napkins. Such soft sweet colours in pinks, mauves and greens, all of my favourites! Straight away I knew I wanted to create a little birthday High Tea around them, bought a pack and then started to plan a mini party for Bec and I. Here are just a few of the photos from the day...

Mauve Lemonade

I found the perfect mauve coloured tablecloth to match the napkins and decided I would set up our dessert table outside overlooking the pool and so we could enjoy the wonderful Spring weather (which was very kind to us that day too). As it was during the day and we would all be driving I made pretty purple lemonade. It looked so cute I'll admit!

Helium balloon bouquets of pale pink and purple, one bunch for each of us. :)

Hummingbird Cupcakes

We had some delicious little cupcakes and muffins, including these two special ones for Bec and I. Just a little fancy. *grin* They are hummingbird cuppies with a lemon frosting. Divine! I can't take credit for these beauties, I wish work at this time of year hadn't been so busy because I adore baking but these come from our local bakery, I just added the flowers and candle touches.

One of my favourite desserts is pavlova so of course we HAD to have that too with fresh cream and yummy strawberries.

And some fruit, just to even out all that sugary sweetness! Before I redecorated our bedroom, for many years it used to be shades of mauve and I had the most amazing arrangement of dried flowers made by a local florist to match all my accessories. To be honest I haven't quite known what to do with it now our bedroom is shades of soft golds, creams and latte. It tends to sit in my messy scraproom most of the time LOL but it was the *perfect* addition to the table this day!

Bec, Me and Sue

Big thanks to my Nick for taking this piccy for us. Was really sad that our Donna had to work that day and couldn't be with us, normally she doesn't as our Tuesdays together are kinda sacred, but it just couldn't be helped. All of us have organised our work schedules over the years to give us this time together, praying that it stays that way for many more to come, seems God has smiled on us in this even as our work and family life changes. We had such a nice day with each other it was so worth all the preparations, memories to treasure. So here we are, another year older, another year wiser, another year of love and friendship. God has truly blessed me!

...and I have no idea why my hair looks so red in these pics! The light maybe? I don't think it is really like that?
